Watch Charley Hoffman shun caddie’s advice: ‘I’m tired of finishing in second'

Four-time PGA Tour winner Charley Hoffman was playing in the final round of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational this past Sunday, and cameras picked up a rather entertaining conversation held between him and his caddie moments before a crucial shot.

Hoffman has had several close calls this year, but his form is indifferent to say the least. And it seems the man himself has grown frustrated by his lack of trophy-winning.

Speaking to his caddie Brett Waldman while standing 282 yards out on the “monster” par-5 16th at Firestone's South course, Hoffman was having none of it. When Waldman suggested the veteran golfer try for a lay-up, Hoffman replied: I'm three back with three to play, I mean, I'm trying to win a golf tournament.”

"I'm tired of finishing in second," he added.

However, Hoffman’s call seemed to be a good one initially as he crashed his shot straight onto the green. unfortunately, a poor chip and putt followed, leading to a disappointing par. Hoffman finished six back of eventual winner Hideki Matsuyama.

Still, it was an interesting conversation between player and caddie, and you can hear the whole thing in the clip below.
