The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
Oosthuizen Out For Two Months
We backed Louis Oosthuizen at the 2013 Open thinking that his experience as a past winner and his all-round solid game would be a good way of topping up the office biscuit fund.
So it was a hefty blow to the stomach to see the South African hitching a lift back to the clubhouse after eight holes having withdrawn injured. In the early confusion we were a bit miffed, but it soon transpired that Louis has been battling long-standing injuries to his neck, back and hip and is now taking two months away from the game to recover.
“It is obviously very disappointing to miss out on playing in such prestigious tournaments, but these are injuries that I have been managing for most of the season. It is important that I now give myself the proper time to recover.”
Louis is hoping to return to the scene of his Open triumph in the Alfred Dunhill Links at St Andrews in late September. We’ll be sticking a ‘get well soon’ £1 on him for luck.
