Louis Oosthuizen re-signs with PING Golf

South African Louis Oosthuizen has signed a multi-year contract extension to continue playing with PING Golf, which includes wearing the brand’s apparel and using its equipment.

As per the agreement, Oosthuizen will sport PING headwear, carry a PING staff bag and play with a minimum of 11 PING clubs – including driver and putter. He will also continue to wear a variety of PING clothing.

The financial terms of the agreement have been kept quiet, as well as the length of the deal.

John A. Solheim, the Ping chairman and chief executive, said: “Louis has a beautiful, fluid swing we’d all love to have; it is widely regarded as one of the best on tour.

“On top of it, he has one of the most recognisable smiles in the game, and his easy-going nature makes him a fan favourite. Most important to his success, he’s remarkably consistent. Because of that, he has been among golf’s top players for several years and we’re proud to continue our long-standing relationship with someone who represents PING so well across the world.”

Oosthuizen, 32, said of his new deal: “I’ve used Ping equipment since I was a teenager. From the time I started playing their clubs, I knew they were the best fit for my game, and I believe that now more than ever with the success I’ve had on the European and Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) tours. So much of golf comes down to confidence, and I’ve always trusted that Ping’s technology is the best and it keeps getting better and better. I’m excited to see what comes next.”

Oosthuizen finished for a tie of second at both the US Open and the Open Championship this year and currently sits 13th in the Official World Golf Rankings, boosted from 45th at the end of 2014.
