The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
Ian Poulter joins Titleist Golf
Ian Poulter last night sent out a tweet to his fans announcing that he was officially joining Titleist/FootJoy for the 2014-15 PGA Tour season following his eight-year stint with former company Cobra-PUMA.
Poulter was tight-lipped initially about his next destination, but last night finally spilled the beans, tweeting: “Seriously pleased to announce I will be a full staff @Titleist @FootJoy staff player for 2015 season. So excited.”
His decision to leave Cobra-PUMA was quickly met with speculation over where the Englishman would be heading, with Titleist high on the list due to him being familiar with the brand, notably its Pro V1x golf balls.
Poulter has also used Vokey wedges for a number of years now and hasn’t been shy to laud praise on the brand via social media in the past, so this was a comfortable match for both parties.
However, the deal does allow Poulter to still wear his appeal line, while also sporting FootJoy’s premium shoes and gloves – an issue considered a potential stumbling block for any suitors of the player.
Often when a player chooses new equipment there’s a bedding in process, but in Poulter’s case the learning curves will be mere bumps in an otherwise familiar road.
