The moment Fleetwood wins Race to Dubai

On the same day that Jon Rahm won the DP World Tour Championship, Tommy Fleetwood was crowned European number one.

Justin Rose had looked set for a remarkable third win in succession to seal a second Race to Dubai title when he led by a shot with seven holes to play, bogeyed three of the next five.

That left Rose needing to eagle the last to overhaul Fleetwood. However, his long-range attempt rolled past the hole as Fleetwood looked on alongside his fiancée Clare and their seven-week-old son.

The 23-year-old, who only turned professional in June last year, finished a shot ahead of Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Ireland’s Shane Lowry, whose 63 equalled the lowest round of the week.

"It's amazing. You start the season in November/December and you are watching the last shot of the season to see who wins. It's very special," the 26-year-old said afterwards.

"I didn't play how I wanted to today. It wasn't pretty. From 11 and 12 onwards it was difficult not to think about what Justin was doing."
