The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
Duke Wins First PGA Tour Title
American Ken Duke claimed his first PGA Tour career victory at the ripe old age of 44, after a dramatic play-off win at the Travelers Championship.
Duke outdid fellow compatriot Chris Stroud with a birdie at the second play-off hole after the two both finished on 12 under.
Stroud was seeking a first title also, and was looking good for the win when he chipped in from behind the 18th green to force a play-off.
Meanwhile Justin Rose’s game ended with him on six under in tied 13th. Not a bad game for the US Open Champion.
Bubba Watson had challenged the leading two but eventually dropped out of contention with a triple bogey at the 16th, finishing on 10 under. That left Duke and Stroud in the play-off, with Duke missing a tough birdie on the first play-off hole, before making that vital putt on the next.
