Golf Waterproofs
Golf waterproofs are the perfect clothing outfit for providing waterproof protection for playing in dreaded rainy showers. Their fully waterproof feature enables a player to keep themselves and their clothing underneath dry and warm at all times. The majority of waterproofs remain lightweight in order to keep the players’ swing unrestricted and also offer breathability in rainy but warm temperatures. Here at OnlineGolf we provide a wide collection of waterproofs in the form of Jackets, Trousers and Suits. These are available from the majority of leading golf clothing brands such as Galvin Green, GOLFINO, Benross, Ping, Ellesse, FootJoy, and Greg Norman. Our waterproof roster features garments in a variety of different colours such as Beige, Black, Blue, Grey, Navy, Red and Silver. The majority of premium waterproof garments consist of both a polyester outer lining and a Gore-Tex inner lining in order to provide full waterproof protection.
Jackets
The waterproof jacket includes covering a player’s full upper body with rain proof protection. This would for example keep the player’s underneath upper body clothing dry and is essential for keeping their body warm. Our Male selection of waterproof jackets come available in sizes Small, Medium, Large, X Large and XX Large, meanwhile our Ladies Collection include sizes X Small, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16. The waterproof jacket is sized in line with the regular sizing for normal golf clothing. Sometimes the player prefers a bigger fitted jacket because it is placed over your other clothes and therefore doesn’t restrict your swing.
Trousers
The waterproof trouser provides full waterproof protection to a golfer’s lower part of their body. This would primarily keep a golfer’s legs completely dry and also would prevent their underneath pair of trousers from getting wet. Our Male selection of waterproof trousers include, depending on the make and model, lettered or worded sizes of Small, Small / Medium, Medium, Large, X Large and XX Large. Other pairs are sorted in regular trouser numbered sizes including 30, 32, 34, 36, 38 and 40. Our Ladies collection provides waterproof trousers in sizes Large, X Large and XX Large. Waterproof trousers are sized accordingly with normal trousers sizes. These are to be worn over regular trousers and as a result, sometimes a golfer predominantly prefers a slightly bigger fit to offer a less restricted feel for their legs and stance, while also providing increased breathability around your legs.
Suits
The waterproof suit is a bundle which features a combined pair of waterproof trousers and a waterproof jacket. When buying each type separately, golfers can mix and match with different sized jackets and trousers. In the waterproof suit format, the jacket and trousers come grouped in the same size. This combination normally allows a more cost-effective option of ensuring you receive ultimate rain and windproof protection when you take to the course.
Golf Waterproof Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best golf waterproofs?
Golf waterproofs, whether you’re opting for a full golf waterproof suit or a singular item like a pair of trousers, they are designed to keep you dry and comfortable on the course. They need to be waterproof (of course) and breathable, with enough forgiveness to allow movement. Importantly, there are two stipulations: waterproof, which means entirely water-tight, and rainproof, which is resistant to showers but not as reliably so to heavy rainfall as a full waterproof. However, rainproof does still give you more protection than your average golf jacket, so which weatherproofing you go for depends on how steadfast of a golfer you are, come rain or shine!
Do you wear trousers under golf waterproofs?
This is entirely your choice. Some golfers’ personal preference is to just wear waterproof trousers with no base layer. Others like to wear their waterproof golf trousers over the top of their base layer, and many pairs of trousers allow for this with their elasticated waist. On days when the weather can’t make up its mind, it may be best to wear regular golf trousers underneath your waterproofs, so you can always remove and replace the waterproof layer as you need.
Why do golf jackets have no hoods?
Many golf jackets don’t have hoods because they obscure your peripheral vision and can therefore hamper your shot. They don’t allow for freedom of movement for your head when lining up a shot and could even inhibit your swing from your shoulders and chest. This is why many players opt for golf caps, because they shield your eyes from the sun and the rain whilst still allowing full perception of the course.
