TaylorMade PSi Irons
TaylorMade Golf’s new PSi Irons are said to “take a new approach to the better player iron.” And we can’t wait to find out how true that statement is!
According to TaylorMade, players have long suffered due to being forced into choosing an iron with either premium sound and feel or distance. However, with the PSi Irons, a perfect balance of form and function has been found thanks to the brand’s new Dynamic Feel System (DFS).
Comprised of a compression damper and multi-material cavity badge, this system works to reduce vibration across the face without sacrificing golf ball speeds. When combined with redesigned head geometrics, tungsten weighting in the long irons (3-5) and forged short irons (8-SW), the result is a brilliant dynamic approach to feel which also promises superior sound and feel throughout the entire set.
The PSi has been given a new Speed Pocket design – it is now a cut-thru slot that feeds directly into the cavity undercut. This helps yield more effective slot performance resulting in quicker ball speeds for shots which are taken lower on the face.
Similar to this year’s RSi Irons, the PSi utilises Face Slot located at the heel and toe of the clubface to protect ball speed while also generating greater consistency and distance on those off-centre strikes.
“In creating the PSi, we wanted to make sure we understood the true needs of the better player before deciding how best to approach its design,” said Tomo Bystedt, Director of Iron Product Creation.
“The total performance package had to meet or exceed the player’s expectation on look and feel while giving them performance they had never seen before. The consistency, workability and distance are something we think will be a revelation to all better players.”
The TaylorMade Golf PSi Irons are coming soon to OnlineGolf so keep checking back for updates on its hotly-anticipated release.
