Steve Williams to retire after 40 years of caddying

Steve Williams has announced he is to retire from carrying the bags at the end of next year.

The New Zealander has been bag man for some big-name golfers over the years, including Tiger Woods and Adam Scott. However, Williams now feels the time is right to quit the game after 40 years of service.

"I'd just like to round off and say I've caddied for 40 years. I started in 1979 and 2018 will be forty years,” Williams said.

"I'll caddie a few tournaments, I'm not sure who for yet but I'll just caddy a handful of tournaments next year."

Steve Williams said he may go into broadcasting after he retires as he likes to speak the truth and not hold back his opinions.
