Garcia invites ‘super fan’ to caddie for him

If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again! That was the mantra for one man, whose dream to caddie Sergio Garcia will finally come true after the Spaniard invited him to carry his bags later this season.

Mark Johnson went on a 206-day long Twitter campaign to become Garcia's caddie, putting the hashtag #Letmecaddieforyou at the end of each message.

He tweeted about golf trips, his family, and even wished Garcia happy birthday in one message, while always leaving compliments about his tournament play to help butter up the pro golfer.

And then, in December, Johnson tweeted that he might have to give up on his dream of becoming Garcia’s caddie, but kept going just long enough to get the response he’d been waiting for.

Johnson will now caddie Garcia in September at the British Masters Pro-Am.
