The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
Rory McIlroy jokily apologises for ‘premature celebration’ at Ryder Cup
World No.1 Rory McIlroy has apologised to American Zach Johnson for accidentally popping the champagne corks a little too soon on Sunday afternoon.
McIlroy was standing with fellow Northern Irishman and teammate Graeme McDowell as the pair watched Johnson play out the final match against Victor Dubuisson, holding a champagne bottle in hand in preparation to celebrate Europe’s victory over the United States.
But just as Johnson was about to putt, the cork popped and the champagne flowed – giving both McIlroy and McDowell a fright.
”I swear this usually never happens!!! #premature #sorryzach” McIlroy later joked in his tweet.
