The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
Red Carpet Woods Returns To Sawgrass
It’s been a strange old pre-tournament week for Tiger Woods ahead of the Players Championship.
The World No.1 and his new girlfriend Lyndsey Vonn were seen strutted their stuff on the red carpet at Anna Wintour’s Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Their appearance at the ‘Punk: Chaos to Couture’ themed event sounds like it was the result of Tiger being the dutiful boyfriend. “Lindsey wanted to try and grow her brand,’’ Woods said, explaining his rare public appearance in such a social setting. “She’s come out with a new perfume and makeup line, so that was a big thing for her, and I’m supporting it. The [punk] theme was certainly interesting.I remember some of that stuff when I was a kid, but I certainly didn’t wear that stuff. It was certainly different.’’
It definitely caused a stir with their appearance deemed big enough for gossip websites to make stuff up about Woodsy being so tipsy he fell over according to an un-named, un-credited mystery source.
Following his night out it was straight to Florida to a venue that hasn’t been happy place for Woods for most of his career, particularly lately, The TPC at Sawgrass.
Woods finished runner-up at the 2000 Players Championship and won it in 2001. Since then, though, he has not had a sniff at winning. Also it was in their famous clubhouse that Tiger made that awkward press conference signalling the end of his marriage in 2010.
In fact, some of the most forgettable moments of Woods’ career have occurred at Sawgrass.
