The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
Pirate Golf Course Is One Step Closer
A pirate themed adventure golf course is planned for the Beach Lawns in Weston-super-Mare in what could be the first of several new attractions for the town.
Last May the council granted a 25-year lease for an adventure golf attraction but the developer, Golfantasia Ltd, from Horsham, West Sussex, withdrew its tender in November.
Another company, Event Attractions Ltd of Bridgwater, has now been approved to take on the lease.
The £450,000 course could be open by the end of the year with the pirate theme used extensively throughout the complex. The centrepiece will be a pirate galleon, with flags and masts stretching up to 19 meters high with the nautical plunderers memorabilia influencing everything from the café’s menu to the design of the holes.
Planning permission has yet to be granted but if the scheme goes ahead it could prove a boost to the council’s coffers with North Somerset Council set to receive £100,000 per year for the site, subject to inflation.
