OG News: Jarrod Lyle confirms he's in "palliative care"
The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
The winner of The Open Championship 2013 will collect a prize sum of £945,000, the Royal & Ancient (R&A) has announced.
The total prize money on offer at this year’s event, which starts at Muirfield on 18th July, has risen by a whopping £250,000 to £5.25m.
The substantial cash injection brings The Open in line with the three other golf Majors – The Masters, the US Open and the USPGA Championship.
