McIlroy training with TaylorMade M2 Driver ahead of WGC-HSBC

Rory McIlroy has been spotted preparing for the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions in Shanghai using a TaylorMade M2 driver and fairway wood, giving the biggest indication yet as to which equipment brand he will switch to when Nike ceases production of its golf club range.

McIlroy has played Nike gear exclusively for more than three years, and won seven PGA Tour events and two major championships while ascending to No. 1 in the world rankings. However, the 27-year-old Northern Irishman has been forced to shop for new sticks following Nike’s August announcement.

There was speculation that McIlroy would opt for Titleist as his new golf partners, as he’s used Scotty Cameron putters in the past when struggling to sink the golf ball from close-range.

If McIlroy does decide to switch his equipment to Taylormade, it would mean that the top three players, including No.1-ranked Jason Day and No.2-ranked Dustin Johnson, would all play TaylorMade drivers and fairway woods.
