The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
McDowell, Bradley & Jacobson launch craft beer line
Golf and alcohol have been working side by side for many years, with some notable wine labels from Greg “The Shark” Norman, Annika Sorenstam and Luke Donald all dipping their putters into the industry at one point or another.
And now it seems that Graeme McDowell, Keegan Bradley and Freddie Jacobson – along with Florida-based brewer The Brew Hub – have joined together to become the first professional golfers to start their own craft beer company, aptly named GolfBeer Brewing.
The beer will initially only be available on draft at selected golf courses and restaurants in Florida, although expansion to bars and grocery stores in 2015 is being planned. And hopefully a line in the UK at some point, too.
The golfers have even come up with some catchy names for their drinks, including Jacobson’s Scandinavian Style Blonde Ale, Bradley’s New England Style Lager and McDowell’s Celtic Style Pale Ale.
“Our lives have always revolved around golf, but we also are passionate about great beer, so we’re really excited about this,” Jacobson enthused.
