The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
Kim Surges Ahead in Sweden
I.K Kim carded an impressive seven-under-par 65 to firmly establish a one stroke lead at the Helsingborg Open on Thursday.
The South Korean carded five birdies consecutively during a fantastic front nine, earning a flawless display, whilst she looked to be drowning in confidence. She also produced another flawless back nine, which included birdies at the par-five 12th and the par-three 17th.
Kim was clearly delighted by her amazing round of golf and looks to be flourishing while in Sweden. She remarked: "Sweden is one of the countries that I really admire and I have some great friends from here so I wanted to visit. I'm pleased with how I played. There are a few long and challenging holes but I played well on the par fives and had some good up and downs."
Elsewhere it was also a good day for Pernilla Lindberg, who didn’t drop a single stroke during her round. The home grown Swede’s six birdies for the round came at the first, second, 11th, 14th, 16th and 18th.
There is a group of nine golfers who are three strokes behind the leader following Thursday’s incredible round. That group consists of Maria Hjorth, Camilla Lennarth, Gwladys Nocera, Nikki Garrett, Klara Spilkova, Liz Young, Valentine Derrey, Nontaya Srisawang and Jade Schaeffer.
