The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
Final Masters Prep For Ernie Els
Ernie Els has confirmed he will be wielding a short putter this week at the inaugural Chiangmai Golf Classic in Thailand but states he’ll be back using his regular belly putter for the Masters at Augusta.
Ernie Els seems to be looking to adapt to the impending ban on anchored putting which is likely to become effective by using a more standard shorter flat stick this week. The Big Easy switched to a longer putter in 2011 and won last year’s Open with it so will not be trying out a short putter at Augusta in two weeks time.
The Chiangmai Golf Classic will be Els’ last appearance before his return to Augusta following his qualification disappointment last year which ended a run of 18-straight appearances in his quest for the coveted Green Jacket.
