The golf world, and many out of it, have been left rocked by the news that Jarrod Lyle is going into palliative care after claiming he is “no longer able to fight.”
Darren Clarke pulls out of Northern Trust Open after injury
Darren Clarke has been forced to withdraw from the Northern Trust Open in California due to a chest muscle injury.
Clarke scored a seven-over-par 78 in the opening round on Thursday before pulling up and deciding he could not continue.
This is the same injury which caused the 45-year-old to miss the recent Qatar Masters and Clarke’s next scheduled event is pencilled in as the Honda Classic in Florida, which will commence from 27 February to 2 March.
Dustin Johnson is the current leader at the Northern Trust Open after hitting an impressive 66 in his opening round. Elsewhere, Ireland hero and two-time Open champion Padraig Harrington started his challenge for honours with a 75.
