Bubba Watson tries to chip in from a “water bunker” in Japan

This week Bubba Watson is spending his time in Japan to play in one of the country’s most prestigious Golf Tour events, the Mitsui Sumitumo VISA Taiheiyo Masters.

Almost always drawing a handful of big names, some of the past winners even include the likes of Gary Player, Seve Ballesteros, Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Jose Maria Olazabal, Jerry Pat and Greg Norman.

Whether Bubba’s name is added to that stellar winners’ list is as yet to be determined. However, he did do something on Tuesday which we highly doubt any of those guys ever tried; he blasted a golf ball out of a “water bunker” and came within inches of holing the shot.

Bubba posted the below video to his social media account late last night from the Taiheiyo Club. It shows him nonchalantly tossing the ball into the greenside pond filled with water about an inch deep, and then he too strides in there after it, takes a quick look at the pin and splashes it out.

The golf ball flies high, lands softly close to the pin and comes to a quick stop, eliciting hoots, cheers and applause from the gallery.

And he didn’t even get wet!
