  • Shaft:
    ?

    Shaft option tooltip

The golf shaft uses the centrifugal force of the swing to generate clubhead speed for striking the golf ball. By picking the correct shaft type to match your swing speed, you'll add distance, consistency and performance to your game.

  • Flex:
    ?

    Flex option tooltip

The flex determines a shaft’s ability to bend during a swing, affecting clubhead speed, distance and control.

Which flex you use will depends on the type of swing you have. Beginners and those with less powerful swings tend to use a shaft with greater flexibility to create more clubhead speed. However, if a player has a high swing speed, they will require a stiffer shaft with less flex.

  • Length:
    ?

    Shaft length tooltip

Getting the correct shaft length benefits you in several ways. We are all different in height and our wrist to floor measurements. Having the wrong length shafts can hinder your address position, stop the clubhead sitting correctly at address & impact and cause lack of accuracy and consistency.

  • Lie Angle:
    ?

    Lie angle tooltip

Lie angle is a factor that affects the accuracy of golf shots. Golfers who use clubs whose lie angles don't fit their body types and/or golf swings are costing themselves strokes. Too upright and the heel strikes the turf first closing the clubface, while too flat and the toe makes contact first opening the clubface.

An “off the shelf” set has a standard lie angle and you can usually choose between ½” and 1” increments upright or flat to custom fit the club to you.

  • Ping Grip:
    ?

    Grip option tooltip

The style of the grip is more often a personal choice but choosing the correct thickness can vastly improve your ball striking and accuracy. We all have different sized hands so take this into account when building your perfect club.

  • Grip Thickness:
    ?

    Grip thickness tooltip

Choosing the correct thickness can vastly improve your ball striking and accuracy. If the grip is too thin your hands will over-rotate resulting in a pull or draw. If the grip is too thick it limits movement of the wrists, leading to a push or fade.

Overview
Improve your game with the new G425 irons from PING with VFT technology. Irons with faces that flex like a metal woods for measurable ball speed gains that launch shots higher and farther with the stopping power to hold greens.

Key Features:

  • Variable Face Thickness (VFT)
  • Hyper 17-4 Stainless Steel Body / Tungsten Weighting
  • Multi-Material Cavity Badge / Hydropearl Chrome Finish
  • 12 Months Warranty

VFT Design (Variable Face Thickness)

This re-engineered face design greatly increases flexing for measurable ball speed gains that launch shots higher and further with the stopping power to hold greens. A technology commonly found in a metal-wood design to boost distance performance.

Hyper 17-4 Stainless Steel Body

The irons have been constructed with a heat-treated high strength 17-4 hyper stainless steel, which enabled PING to design a thinner face. With a more compact blade length compared to the G410 but with a 3% higher MOI due to mass savings from the new face geometry for improved forgiveness.

Tungsten Weighting / Multi-Material Cavity Badge

The weight saved in the design was dispersed into the clubhead using Tungsten weights in the toe and hosel, which expands the perimeter weighting and greatly tightens dispersion.

This multi-material badge in the cavity has been constructed with aluminium, ABS material and damping tape. Designed and tested to improve sound and feel by dampening undesirable frequencies.

Hydropearl Chrome Finish

A premium Hydropearl Chrome water-repellent finish not only looks great but provides better turf interaction. Reducing friction by 40% for improved launch/spin in wet conditions and rough.

Features

Perimeter Weighting

A tungsten toe screw and hosel weight expand the perimeter weighting to create a new standard in forgiveness for an iron its size. The resilient hydropearl chrome finish repels moisture to improve performance from wet conditions.

Speed-Generating Face

A variable-thickness, Hyper 17-4 stainless steel face in the metal-wood-style design delivers our fastest ball speed ever in the G-Series for generating higher, longer results with stopping power.

Stopping Power

A patented cascading sole and top-rail undercut combine to perform like a hinge, flexing to launch the ball faster and higher with green-holding precision consistently and predictably.

Streamlined Look

Its blade length is shorter than the G410 iron but the head has a higher MOI, and the clean, compact design presents an eye-pleasing address view that inspires confidence.

Multi-Material Badge

Extensive finite element analysis was used to develop a three-piece, multi-material cavity badge that covers more of the face to damp undesirable frequencies for superb feel and sound.
