Hole 1 - Bracken Brae

The first hole at the PGA Centenary Course is a 426 yard par 4 with a fairly flat fairway leading up to a raised green. With a bunker on the right-hand side of the fairway players should stick to the left with their drives. This also leaves a good approach to the green, as a bunker in front of the green on the right hand side is ready to swallow any shots that just fail to make the green.

The green itself has a slight slant, dropping from the right hand side down to the left, meaning that players should aim towards the middle to ensure a good next shot. A par on the first hole is a good start and sets the player up for the rest of the game.
