Who is responsible for messing with players’ driver settings?

Bernd Wiesberger stands bemused on the 10th tee. It’s the second round of the Open de France, a Friday, and as he watches his golf ball sail high and wide, the realisation that someone has messed with his Titleist driver settings without his knowledge finally hits home.

"Found out during the round that settings on my Titleist driver have been changed by somebody (this also happened (sic) to other players today apparently)," Wiesberger later posts on his Facebook page. "Never happened to me before."

He could easily shrug such a situation off as an honest mistake on someone’s part, but the fact Wiesberger knows other players had their equipment altered too is extremely strange.

Because of the incident, the European Tour is issuing a notice to all players to check their golf equipment before teeing off.

"Usually there's a bag room for clubs in the clubhouse," says Wiesberger.

The search for the culprit or how the incident happened continues…
