Laura Davies tosses putter into lake after double bogey

Laura Davies knew she wasn’t going to make the cut at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open, so before she left the field, decided to part ways with a piece of her equipment.

After tapping in for a closing double-bogey, Davies tossed her putter into the lake by the 18th green at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in Abu Dhabi, before walking straight off the green with her caddie.

However, Davies showed at least some restraint, as she seemed to be eyeing the lake moments after a lipout for bogey, but managed to hold onto the putter at that point. Until she tapped in.

The Hall of Famer then casually handed her golf ball to her bemused caddie, which begs the question: how did she know the putter was to blame and not the golf ball?
