Lorena Ochoa Wins Second Major In California
Lorena Ochoa won her second consecutive major title by shooting a final round 67 in the Kraft Nabisco Championship in California. She beat second placed Annika Sorenstam and Suzann Pettersen by five shots in the end, after having a one shot lead the night before. The Mexican celebrated in style by jumping into Poppie’s Pond at the 18th Green, something which she'd obviously planned: 'It was a great day,' Ochoa said, 'I woke up this morning and I was feeling great and I had a good feeling and just trying to not get too uptight and be calm and do my routine. For some reason I couldn't stop thinking of that jump in the lake. It was something that I've been waiting a long time for.'
Luckily for her, it was she, and not her golf balls that ended up there - Callaway supplied both her and Sorenstam with the new Tour ix Golf Balls which helped them to her performances at the weekend. He was not the only one enjoying success with this new, 4 piece golf ball: Alistair Forsyth made the play-off in Portugal on the European Tour by holing a monster putt on the 18th with it, Ernie Els has also enjoyed success with it - those who have tried it can testify that it's as good as anything out there!
