Lorena Ochoa Wins Women's Open At St. Andrews
Lorena Ochoa won the Ricoh Women's British Open at St. Andrews by a comfortable 4 shots from Jee Young Lee and Maria Hjorth. She led from start to finish and braved some hideous weather to claim her first major title.
The Mexican, who has won 12 LPGA titles, said: "It's hard to describe but it was the most special round I've ever played. It's unbelievable to win my first major and do it at St Andrews. I have so many family and friends here. I wasn't too nervous. I just went out and tried to play my own game and take it hole by hole. But to win at the home of golf is fantastic.
The Ping player also used a Cleveland Launcher 3 Wood, an Odyssey Putter and the excellent Callaway HX Tour 56 Balls to help her to her historic victory.
