2007 Open Championship Preview

All eyes will no doubt be on Tiger Woods this week as he attempts to make it three Open victories in a row. Playing Nike Golf equipment as usual, he will be keen to tame the infamous Carnoustie links this year, after its 6 over par winning score in 1999.

1999 of course saw the last victory in any major by a European, the last time an Open Championship came to Carnoustie. 8 years later, surely it's about time for another.

The most popular local winner would of course be Monty, playing Yonex equipment. Fresh from his win at the K Club recently, he is a man in form.

Flying the English flag and playing Mizuno equipment is Luke Donald. His compatriot Justin Rose and also the Spaniard Sergio Garcia will be playing with TaylorMade kit in an effort to bring home a major for Europe as well. From Ireland, Padraig Harrington will be using the Wilson Staff Pi5 Irons in his attempts, and the Swedes Niclas Fasth and Henrik Stenson will be playing Callaway and Srixon respectively.
