Golf Gloves

The majority of golfers wear a glove on their leading hand. In other words a right handed golfer will wear a glove on their left hand and a left handed golfer will wear a glove on their right. The golf glove is designed to give as much grip on the golf club as possible, whilst allowing the golfer to grip the club as lightly as possible to facilitate their swing properly and to allow for feel and control. Top glove manufacturers include Wilson, Callaway Golf, Mizuno, Footjoy and Nike.

There are essentially three types of golf glove; leather, synthetic/leather mix and synthetic.

Leather gloves are preferred by top golfers and offer the best grip, comfort, feel and durability.

Leather/Synthetic combination gloves have leather in all the places where it is required the most, such as the palms and fingers. The rest of the glove will be made from synthetic material.

Fully synthetic golf gloves are generally reserved for wet weather, allowing you to maintain your grip whatever the conditions. Of course you can wear them all the time if you wish!

If you are at all unsure about choosing the correct golf glove, please do not hesitate to phone our experts for advice.
