Handicap guide

For the first time ever on a Cobra driver, you can change the centre of gravity to dial in your preferred ball flight and hit longer and straighter shots than ever before. The Fly-Z+ driver features revolutionary FLIPZONE technology that provides two different flight paths in one head to help you send the ball further down the fairway than you could ever imagine.

FLIPZONE Technology

The Fly-Z+ driver is Cobras' first ever front and back adjustable CG driver thanks to the ground breaking FLIPZONE technology. With the weight set at the back, a low back CG position provides a towering ball flight with increased carry for extra distance. When the weight is set at the front, the low front CG position provides a more penetrating ball flight with increased roll to produce massive drives. By tuning the CG, you can set up the driver not only to match your preferred style, but also to the course and conditions you are playing.

MyFly8 with SmartPad

In addition to being able to fine tune the CG of the Cobra Golf Fly-Z+ Driver, you can also select from eight adjustable loft settings thanks to MyFly8. This allows you to manage trajectory and maximise distance for any course condition and any swing. No matter the chosen loft, the SmartPad delivers a square face at address for fairway splitting drives.

This excellent driver features:

  • 460cc head size & forged E9 Zone face weighting with Speed Channel face
  • Adjustable MyFly8 technology with SmartPad
  • FLIPZONE weighting provides an adjustable centre of gravity
  • 12 month guarantee, Matrix VLCT ST 65g graphite shaft, and Lamkin 3GEN Crossline grip

Driver Design

The Fly-Z+ Driver is designed to provide increased ball speeds across the face for incredible distance. It achieves this through an exclusive Cobra innovation, a Speed Channel Face. This engineered trench surrounds the face to help minimise face thickness for higher ball speeds. To increase the size and speed of the sweet spot, a next generation Cobra E9 forged face removes weight from key areas across the face and hosel to provide more distance on off-centre hits.
The Fly-Z+ Driver is also designed to provide forgiveness and incredible distance across the face. With next generation T.O.P (Thin. Optimised. Personalised) technology, a new titanium 6-4 body, and carbon fibre crown and sole pieces maximise discretionary, movable weight. This means weight can be positioned in areas to provide max distance and forgiveness. Crown Zone Weighting also removes weight from the crown and positions it low and back in the head for a low, deep CG. This provides extra forgiveness and distance on off-centre hits so you don't loose performance on shots that don't quite come out the middle of the face.

The Fly-Z+ Red driver comes complete with a matching head cover.

The technology in the head is great, particularly the face, which is very forgiving on off center hits. The shape of the head gives you a good view of the face too which is good for alignment.
The shaft. I have learnt the hard way that it really is best to get a club fitted including the shaft. There's a lot of variability between manufacturers and their shafts. So it's not just regular, stiff etc.
The shaft 2. The shaft length that was supplied was 43.5 inches which is 'short' of the now familiar/accepted 46 inches. Whilst this ought offer more accuracy it could also mean less distance.
The shaft 3. The shaft supplied is meant to have 'consistent circumference flex' to enable the same flex point when rotating the flex when setting different degrees and or draw. However, when tested the shaft had one consistent point of flex at 11d, which means at other settings the shaft will be fighting the swing plane resulting in loss of energy and inconsistent strikes. Are all stock shafts manufacture so poorly?
