Golf Carts & Trolleys
Lugging a golf bag over your shoulder for the duration of a game can be extremely tiring. With a dozen or more clubs, a few spare balls and the weight the bag itself factored in, you have to be of a fairly solid construction to carry a golf bag for 18 holes; which is where golf trolleys and carts come in so handy.
Two Unique Designs
There are two distinctive types of golf trolley, the manual pull-along cart and the motorised equivalent. Both use the same fundamental premise of a cart that is ergonomically designed to hold your club bag as well as being pulled along comfortably. The archetypal golf trolley is a reasonably simple construction; usually consisting of a straight bar roughly running at around 45 degrees - on which the bag is supported at the base and the top - two rear wheels for mobility, a handle to help pull it along and a support, or third wheel, at the base to stop it toppling over.
Collapsible & Packed with Features
Many golf carts are collapsible, allowing you to easily transport it with your clubs to and from the course. The range of features that the cart possesses beyond the statutory fundamentals varies extensively across the numerous products. Dependant on your individual requirements, you can purchase a golf trolley with as many or as few added extras as you desire.
Top of the range trolleys, such as the Hummer Golf Turbo Trolley and the ClicGear Cart Trolley, boast an array of features that make them stronger, lighter and more functional for you out on the course. Accessories holders for golfing peripherals, such as umbrellas and scorecards, ensure your hands are free at all times. Likewise pneumatic tyres and quick assembly and dismantling features, ensure that all the fuss is taken out of your game.
Economical Pull Trolleys
That said, even the carts at the cheaper end of the spectrum provide an extremely good level quality. They may not provide the thrills and added extras of a more costly alternative, but the build quality, materials and basic structure are all of a very high standard.
Electric Golf Trolleys
Motorised electric trolleys are an essential piece of equipment for the golfer with everything, or for those who experience significant difficulties carrying a bag or pulling a cart around the course. Powered by an on-board motor and battery, a modern mechanical golf trolley needs only to be steered in the right direction; requiring very little effort and no technical knowledge. The battery is chargeable, with most lasting between 18 and 36 holes, and many have different speed options, allowing you to either charge around the course or go at a more leisurely pace.
The electric golf trolley adheres to the same fundamental design principles as those of its manual counterpart. The only major difference being the extra capacity required for the battery and motor. Each separate product features a host of manual accessories and even unique digital functions, made possible by the on-board power supply.
Prices tend to reflect the added technology of a motorised golf cart, with a decent trolley costing upwards of £250. However the extra investment could well be the saving grace of your golfing game; removing all the hassle and fuss that can occur during an 18 hole game.
