Sergio is one of today's golfing wonders, he was taught the game by his father from the early age of 3. The star player won his first club championship at only 12 years of age and from then on things only got better. Sergio set the record as the youngest player ever to make the cut at a European Tour Event, going on to win the European Amateur Championship all at 15. His first major was at 16 playing in the 1996 British Open, followed by victories at the Spanish PGA Tour event's Catalonian Open in 1997 and the British Amateur Championship in 1998.
A year later in 1999 Sergio turned pro and became the youngest player ever to play at the Ryder Cup. His quality golfing performance over the following next few years saw Sergio go on to win numerous events, seeing him saw from 399th to number 2 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
