Golf Grips

It might seem difficult at first to get to grips with all the different options out there. After all, they're attached to every club on the market and come in a variety of sizes, patterns and colours.

Velvet Golf Club Grips

One main difference is between Velvet Grips and Corded Grips. Velvet Grips are made of smooth rubber and tend to be less expensive than the corded variety. Corded Grips are processed so that the shaft is covered with tiny cords, which increase the traction, thus improving your grip.

Standard Grips are suitable for your average sized gentleman golfer, unless the hand size is either very small or very large. Then many companies, such as Winn or Golf Pride, offer undersized, mid-sized or even jumbo-sized grips for those whose hands are bigger than average.

Professional Sizing Advice

In order to find your exact size golf grip, the most precise way is to speak with a golf professional who will be able to look at the issues related to your hand size and swing. However, a standard way to judge for yourself is to find a grip whereby you can wrap your fingers around the shaft of the grip and feel the tips of your fingers just touching the palm of your hand.
